This Capstone project is a self-paced, online training to help prepare learners at the Defense Language Institute. Adult learners will be provided to comprehend some grammatical concepts, mainly in this learning module the use of the verb "To Be" (Kana) in the Arabic Basic Course in SM1, which is considered one of the essential grammar lessons. Most of our trainees struggle comprehending the target language listening, reading, and speaking. The main goals of this course weren’t only to help our audience to interpret, translate and speak the Arabic language on their jobs but also to get engaged in the Arabic culture. I found that it was a better way to catch our digital learners' interests to give them opportunities to learn about (Kana) using UCAT (Uniform Curriculum Assessment Tool). This project relates to teaching the concept of (Kana) providing practice opportunities that provide a foundation for mastery of the grammar concept. UCAT was recently adopted to its full extent at DLI to assess learners at their achievement’s tests, that is why I found this Capstone project will be good for them to test UCAT as a good resource for students to study independently when provided tutorials and some applications to practice them. This course can be shared with teaching teams in the future and can also be updated to meet intermediate or advanced language learning levels. This module consists of different types of scenarios based on real-life examples. Learners can apply their learned knowledge, all matters related to their real-world during their deployment or on the job. The learning module provided plenty of applications and feedback. Gagne's nine events of instruction were the framework for designing my lessons. It is set up a self-paced learning module on UCAT where faculty and their learners at DLI share the same website. It is easier for learners to access it. Also, they can choose where and when they can take a lesson here or there, and how to navigate through the course rather than to attend a grammar clinic later. This Capstone includes tutorials and take-home resources and instructions.
